Cyrodiil Raid Comms in Elder Scrolls Online: Voice Setup for Crowns

In ESO's Cyrodiil the group lead is the crown: the voice that calls targets, pushes and retreats, and everyone follows the crown or dies alone. Two platform facts make that hard. Groups cap at 12 players, so a guild fielding 30 people runs three separate groups. And on PC the game has no built-in voice chat at all, so everything happens on Discord, where one voice reaches only one channel. A voice relay fixes it: each group keeps its own channel and the crown is heard in all of them at once.

How ESO group content is structured

The comms problem past 12 players

A 30-player guild night in Cyrodiil is three groups. Put them in one Discord channel and the crown's calls drown in three groups' worth of chatter; split them into channels and only one group hears the crown. Discord has no native broadcast: every account, including a bot, can occupy exactly one voice channel per server.

How to set it up on Discord

dcshot is a voice relay service for Discord, built for MMO raid callouts. Setup for an ESO guild takes minutes in the web dashboard:

For multi-guild operations, dcshot can share voice across up to four allied Discord servers, so one crown can lead groups sitting on their own guilds' Discords.

When you don't need a relay

A single trial group or one ball group of 12 fits in one shared channel, and that is the right tool. A relay starts paying off when two or more groups need their own comms and still have to hear one crown, which in ESO terms means guild PvP nights and faction-scale pushes in Cyrodiil.

Facts worth knowing

Latency

Calls arrive in every group channel with sub-second latency, fast enough for push and bomb calls in live fights.

Reliability

dcshot runs on a multi-server cluster with automatic failover. If a server fails mid-fight, bots migrate to a healthy machine within seconds.

Pricing

Credit-based, no cash subscription. Run bots on PvP nights, drop to zero between campaigns. A month at zero costs nothing and credits never expire.

Scale

Up to 16 relay bots per Discord server. A 36-player guild night in groups of 12 needs 3 channels, so there is plenty of headroom.

Ready before your next campaign night. Setup takes minutes and players install nothing.
